haha...so it's pretty obvious that I'm happy about that. It's the first school in California that has accepted me and so far, that makes me 6 for 6 colleges! I'm totally stoked about Santa Clara University because I think it has an environment that suits me better. I am only slightly competitive, and only to a degree where I think that it makes all participants better as a collective. I'm very much opposed to the killer instinct where you succeed by making others fail. From what I've learned about Santa Clara University, a real sense of community is established, and the campus does try to create a supportive atmosphere for all.
Now of course, I know that doesn't necessarily mean that EVERYONE is going to be nice and supportive, but I can settle for most. :)
I'm still waiting to see if UC Davis, UC Hastings, and UCLA will accept me. However, I think that's more for pride than anything else. I'm pretty much settled on SCU, unless one of the UCs can provide me more financial aid. At the moment, I'm still waiting to see how much aid I can get from SCU because I have to file my FAFSA. haha...compare SCU's offer to ones given to me by University of St. Thomas ($45k scholarship) and Quinnipiac University ($75k scholarship). It may be crazy to some that I would go to Santa Clara over the others since they're not offering me anything, but if I am to be completely honest, I value being close to my family and my time with Jess. Being so far away makes it harder to see the scholarships for what they are. Of course, that still means that if the other schools accept me and offer me a great scholarship, I may end up going to one of those programs! :)
