Vietnamese Language Translator
Family Supportive Housing provides shelter and supportive services to homeless families in
Family Supportive Housing’s Transitional Housing Program is designed to empower families and increase their independence through case management for one year following their placement in a stable housing environment. Our program assists families in financial need with rental assistance for one year. At the end of the year in the Transitional Housing Program each family must be responsible for complete payment of the rent.
Family Supportive Housing’s Transitional Housing Program seeks to fill a contract position for a Vietnamese/English Translator to:
· Meet with Family Supportive Housing staff to prepare to translate Vietnamese to English and English to Vietnamese during case management and housing lease meetings with Vietnamese speaking clients
· Assist Family Supportive Housing staff during meetings onsite at Family Supportive Housing’s main office or in the private homes of our clients
· Provide accurate verbal translation services
An ideal candidate will:
· Have experience working in a social service setting
· Agree to share client information only with appropriate staff at Family Supportive Housing & agree not to share client information with anyone not working for Family Supportive Housing
· Be sensitive and understanding of our clients’ needs
· Be available on an as needed basis for 2 – 5 hours/month – we can coordinate schedules with clients and Family Supportive Housing staff.
Compensation: Contract position - $15/hr.
