My vote and endorsements

My votes for this election cycle. Enjoy!

Elected Officials
President - Barack Obama (DUH!)
Vice-President - Joe Biden (DUH!)
House of Representative - Zoe Lofgren (She's awesome!)
State Senate - Joe Simitian
State Assembly - Joe Coto
San Jose City Council, District 2 - Ash Kalra (DUH!)

State Propositions
Prop 1A, high speed rail connecting norcal and socal - HELL YEAH! This should've been in the works a long time ago!
Prop 2, humane treatment for chickens - Of course! Just because we are going to eat them doesn't mean that we should be growing them in tiny cages that sit on top of each other. That means that they dookie on each other.
Prop 3, Children's hospital bond - Yes. Support kids.
Prop 4, Parental notification for minors getting abortion - No. I'm a bit torn on this issue. It's the right and responsibility of parents to be involved in decisions about their children, but at the same time, pregnant teens getting abortions in dark alleys isn't exactly desirable either.
Prop 5, Rehab for nonviolent drug offenders - Yes. A big part of the reason why California's budget is in the tank is because we have prisons filled with people who should be getting treatment instead of being put in jail. Treatment is a better deal for the offender and cheaper for the state; running prisons is incredibly expensive!
Prop 6, Set budgeting for law enforcement - HELL NO! First off, ballot budgeting is incredibly damaging to the state's budgeting process and is part of California's economic woes. I believe that this is only justified for education, and even then, I think it should be reevaluated to be more flexible. Secondly, if Santa Clara County is any indication, I think they have enough money (too much if they are using their powers to target the Latino community!)
Prop 7, Renewable Energy - No. I'm all for going green, but this is written poorly. Even the companies that would benefit from this prop oppose it because they aren't able to meet it's demands. Go Green, but go responsibly.
Prop 8, Banning Gay Marriage - HELL NO. Equal protection to all. 'Nuff said.
Prop 9, Victim's Rights - No. My biggest concern about this is that they must be notifed and included into the parole process. Victims fear the person who commited a crime against them, and justifiably so. However, victims aren't involved in the person's incarceration, and don't see the progress, if any, that person makes. The Parole Boards have access to that information.
Prop 10, Alternative Energy Bonds - No. Similar issue to Prop 6. Too much ballot budgeting.
Prop 11, Redistricting - HELL YEAH! Our state legislature cannot compromise on anything because they have consistently drawn their own districts to protect their seats, instead of reflecting population trends and changes, as it should be done. This is having its biggest impact on the state budget, which has been consistently late for a decade. It is hurting our state economy and hurting all of the people who depend on the state for their wages or for its services.
Prop 12, Veterans Bond Act - Yes. We need to help our veterans with their farms and homes. They fought for us and we need to make that we take care of them.

San Jose Measures
Measure A, Hospital seismic retrofitting - Yes. Keeps San Jose hospitals open.
Measure B, 1/8 cent sales tax increase for BART to San Jose - HELL YEAH! We need BART. This tax increase will only occur if VTA can also get the federal government to provide federal funds for the project.
